STAFF Brian McGurn
Brian McGurn has coached intercollegiate women's and men's lacrosse for 10 years. He played four years of lacrosse at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa., starting all four seasons on defense. The team participated in four NCAA Division III tournaments, advancing to two Final Fours. He was a three-time First Team All-Conference, a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American and he served as team captain his senior year. The former defenseman was as an assistant coach at Lynchburg College from 1996-98, before moving on to serve as defensive coordinator at Franklin & Marshall College (1998-2001) and Gettysburg College (2001-03). In 2003 he moved to the business world, serving as Director and Partner for Bagataway Lacrosse, LLC, a company that organized, scheduled and staffed year-round co-educational camps, clinics and camps in locations though-out Atlanta and the surrounding area. In 2005, McGurn returned to intercollegiate lacrosse, this time as first assistant coach with the University of Maryland women's team. For two seasons he coached defenders, midfielders and goalies in game, practice and individual settings, as the team advanced to the NCAA Tournament both years. In 2008 McGurn worked as the first assistant coach and defensive coordinator for Yale's women's lacrosse squad as the team just missed the NCAA Tournament with a record of 11-5 and a ranking of No. 17 in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll. Kelly Nangle
Kelly Nangle graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md., after a stellar career as a defender on the Mountaineers women's lacrosse team. She was a four-time All-NEC selection, receiving First Team honors her senior campaign. She finished her career second in ground balls (204), fourth in caused turnovers (116) and eighth in draw controls (65), and was selected to participate in the Division I North/South Senior All Star Game. After graduating with a degree in Business, Nangle spent a season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Mountaineers women's lacrosse team, working with the defense. In 2007 she was named the head coach of St. John's Catholic Prep girl's lacrosse team, increasing the squad's win total by four from the previous season en route to two All-Conference and two All-County players.
Nicol Parcelluzzi
Taking over the team in July 2005, all Parcelluzzi did was guide MSU to the finest season it has ever seen. During the 2006 campaign, Montclair State compiled an 15-3 mark, setting the season record for victories. The Red Hawks won their final 12 games of the year - another record and their .833 winning percentage was one of the best in Division III. In addition, Montclair posted a perfect record during the regular season in the Skyline Conference and remained that way as it captured its first league title by outscoring its opponents, 40-11 in the Skyline Tournament. The Red Hawks then put the exclamation point on its banner season by winning the ECAC Division III Upstate Championship in just its second postseason appearance. In addition to its team success, Montclair also had eight players named All-Conference and four chosen to the IWLCA Boardwalk All-Region Team. For her efforts, Parcelluzzi and her assistants were named the Skyline Conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year. A four-year letterwinner on the Rutgers women’s lacrosse team, she helped the Scarlet Knights to its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in her senior campaign. That year, Parcelluzzi was named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional first team All-America and Most Valuable Player and participated in the annual North/South game.

Throughout the entire history of the Montclair State Athletic Department there have been very few coaches who had the kind of season Nicol Parcelluzzi put together in her first year at the helm of the Red Hawks women’s lacrosse program.
